Town centres do need investment and regeneration , updating with new technology and trends. Also keeping some green spaces and sports facilities within walking distance.

These sparsely populated villages in rural areas will be completely changed if massive housebuilding targets are met allowing urban sprawl & making one big housing estate from Macclesfield to Manchester destroying the character & habitat of many diverse flora and fauna. It will no longer be a unique and special place - it will be like the suburbs of London.

One might say that Cheshire East has good connectivity. However, outside of the towns, buses are few and far between. Train stations, if there is one, often do not have adequate parking. Also there are numerous lanes which are unsuitable for heavy mainstream traffic and maintenance of the edges of the roads is poor leading to accidents & damaged vehicles. If one does not drive or own a car, it is very difficult to get to places of work.

The impact on the environment of unsustainable increases in housebuilding in Cheshire East should be of prior importance as ultimately it will affect all flora and fauna!

Regeneration of brownfield sites is a must to help urban sites. Many young people would prefer to have a flat within walking distance of a town especially if they do not drive or do not own a car.

Council should challenge the government mandate to increase new house build in Cheshire East to an unsustainable 146%! Make it simpler to build on brownfield sites with incentives to make empty houses usable again. Focus on people & environment rather than developers' profits & shareholders ' gains! Be transparent when setting out the reasons for choosing the sites to be developed. Define 'affordable' & have a balance of different houses to make a community including houses & flats for rent.

Do NOT allow greenbelt to be redefined as greybelt! Respect local people and the communities thereabouts. Some railway stations are very small & not many trains stop there.
