Ensure Local Plan design policies cover following matters:

EV charging facilities are required for all residential and commercial developments.

Solar panels are required for all types of residential and commercial buildings.

All residential buildings incorporate dedicated storage space for all CEC issued waste bins.

All developments have trees to provide shade cover to protect from sun and heat.

All developments have appropriate street lighting provision for safety.

All public and (publicly-accessible) commercial developments provide (at the very least) accessible toilets.

The Cheshire Business Survey 2017 is almost a decade old. More up to date evidence of local business community needs is required.

Are town centre studies undertaken for all centres, or just principal towns and key service centres. Will it include heath checks? When will they be completed? Will they be subject to public consultation?

Need to have evidence relevant to an Ageing Population.

At end of each Local Plan policy please include a summary box that shows how the policy links to the following:

Strategic Objectives - show the reference numbers so it can be seen which objectives the policy links to.

SEA Objectives - as above

Monitoring indicators - show the monitoring indicators that will be used to measure the outcomes of the policy.

Local plan must include policies to ensure following matters are reflected appropriately:

1) Equalities

2) Equity of opportunity

3) Community cohesion

There are many practical examples of local plans elsewhere that have successfully incorporated the above matters in planning policies.

Organisations such as RTPI, TCPA etc offer practical advice, good examples and case studies to inform your approach.

Local plan must include policy to manage the proliferation and concentration of Hot Food Takeaways in interests of addressing the obesity crisis and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Hot Food Takeaways must not permitted within 1000 metres of local high schools or colleges.

No more than maximum of one Hot Food Takeaway premises to be allowed within any local shopping centres, local centres or district centres.

RTPI and TCPA have good practical advice and guidance and case studies to inform local plan.
