There should not be an over-reliance on Elected Members as 'the voice of the community' and they should be required to provide written reports on the Local Plan to their relevant Town Council.
It is Alsager Town Councillors, for instance, that have worked with community members over a period of months to update the Neighbourhood Plan, not Elected Ward Members.

ATC would support the intent to hold community assemblies and would like to be involved in supporting an Alsager assembly of representative residents. Our current collaborative links with both local businesses and volunteer groups may be of value to this process.
