I object to the inclusion of 291.03 hectares across 12 adjoining sites around Ashley in the Local Plan/SHELAA. I believe the land performs important Green Belt functions, preventing urban sprawl and settlement merging while protecting productive agricultural land. Ashley lacks the infrastructure, public transport and highway capacity required for large-scale sustainable development. I am also concerned about reduced rail services, airport-related constraints, drainage, utilities and flood risk. Development would result in the loss of high-grade agricultural land and cause harm to landscapes, habitats, protected species and listed buildings. I therefore request that the land is classified as unsuitable and undeliverable.
