The respondent supports preparation of the new Local Plan but argues that growth should be distributed through an evidence-led strategy rather than reflecting the availability of promoted sites. They seek recognition of Knutsford’s existing and committed growth and assessment of cumulative infrastructure and environmental impacts. Particular concern is raised about potential development of the Manchester Road/Mereheath Lane sports corridor, including sites HE326a and HE326b. The respondent argues that existing sports grounds should remain protected open space, citing Local Plan and Neighbourhood Plan policies, sports evidence and planning obligations. They request continued protection and enhancement of the facilities and transparent assessment of future development proposals.
