The issue with the local plans is that they are often dismissed or disregarded when they go down the levels, for example when it reaches a small village at parish level, the local plan for that area is often disregarded as it does not fit in with the wider views. Ultimately, they should be taken into account as the residents who live there have been involved and their views matter.

Will the new local plans focus on brown field sites more than greenbelt for development? You say how the plans focus on what is acceptable for developments and where and yet the government and Cheshire East Council insist on ripping up greenbelt as opposed to utilising derelict sites and brownfield sites first as it is cheaper to use greenbelt which goes against your policies.

When developing the local plan you really should take focus off housing developments and focus on looking after the environment which is a habitat for wildlife and needed agricultural land. The local plan is not just to accommodate all the houses the government wish to build on greenbelt sites as they seem to ignore brownfield sites. With local plans and development there is always mention of developments being done a sympathetic way to wildlife but ultimately development has ruined and destroyed a huge part of our wildlife which we cannot get back.

The government and Cheshire East Council need to look at actually developing the towns better and improving those areas such as Macclesfield and Crewe who could do with the injection as opposed to developing small villages in the countryside surrounded by greenbelt. Larger towns already have the infrastructure there and it would develop them and enhance those areas especially if run down parts of towns are improved and developed.

The grey belt is just a way of utilising greenbelt land and should not be a way of allowing people to develop on effectively, greenbelt land, The government have crowbarred this in and the same principles for greenbelt should still apply. All that has happened is that a lot of land surrounding villages has now come up for quicker due to this relaxation. The government do not seem to focus or care about sprawl

We need to shift away from seeing low population as a bad thing. That doesn't mean that Cheshire East needs to be developed more especially as the current state everything is in by the council is poor and they cannot cope dealing with the current logistics as it is. More development will only mean more delays on everything and shoddy workmanship such as bin collections, blocked drains, potholes, siding out pavements etc. All these and many more jobs the council struggle with to either do, look at or complete to a satisfactory standard, they cannot cope with more development.

Just because local areas have a train station shouldn't mean they are automatically developed. Actual statistics need to be looked at. In Chelford 1% of the population use that station as most people who live in the village work from home due to it being in the countryside, which is why most of them probably live there. There is no consideration to additional trains being put on or better links to Manchester airport. On top of this the networks provide a terrible service where nearly all the trains from Chelford or to Chelford are delayed.

Another reason to develop nearer the towns and not rip up the greenbelt in the smaller villages so that people are travelling less for work meaning it is better for the environment and less traffic on the roads. If you focus on developing areas like Crewe then that will have a better impact on the economy and growth for the area.
