Brereton Neighbourhood Plan (modification) Regulation 16 Consultation

Representation Summary:

I object to the draft housing policies because removing Brereton Heath’s settlement boundary has made extensions, renovations and self-build housing unnecessarily difficult. The 2020 settlement review described Brereton Heath as a village with a defined boundary, with 454 residents and a coherent built form, while many smaller settlements retained village status. Evidence also shows the previous Neighbourhood Plan resisted larger developments. Reinstating the boundary would support proportionate infill and housing needs without encouraging large-scale development. I also object to HOUS02 & HOUS03, which appear overly restrictive and conflict with the stated aim of supporting local housing and self-build opportunities.
