I strongly object to the proposed development of land around Ashley.
The scale of the land being put forward is wholly inappropriate for this rural area. Ashley has limited local services, limited public transport and a very infrequent rail service. The existing road network, including narrow bridges and level crossings, raises serious questions about whether it could accommodate development on this scale.
The land is Green Belt and includes valuable agricultural land, sensitive landscapes, wildlife habitats and important heritage settings. Large-scale development would fundamentally alter the character of Ashley and have wider consequences for neighbouring communities, including Hale, Hale Barns and Bowdon.
The cumulative impact of this proposal, together with other proposed development in the surrounding area, must be properly assessed before any decision is made.
I believe this proposal is inappropriate for the location and should not be included for development in the Local Plan.
