Local plan scoping consultation

I am submitting this email as my comments on the above.

I feel very strongly that the Green Belt should be protected. The Adlington Green Belt serves to contain Greater Manchester and avoid further urban sprawl southwards to Macclesfield.
In particular I feel that the swathe of land below Kerridge and running towards Macclesfield should be retained as a green corridor.

The land in the Adlington area and and between Bollington and Macclesfield provides high quality farmland and woodland and is home to much varied wildlife. We need to protect these spaces.

I would like the plan to value the character of this part of Cheshire East as a fundamentally rural, agricultural area with villages and market towns.

I object strongly to further large scale developments and in particular I want to see the Green Belt area around Adlington protected from development.

Any further developments across Cheshire East should be in response to evidenced local needs and supported by investment in the required transport, health, educational and other public services.

The plan should not be led by speculative developers but respond to local needs and respect and enhance the essential character of the area.

The plan should focus on identifying and redeveloping brownfield sites. We should not allow major development in Cheshire East at a time when there is so much brownfield land in Greater Manchester and other cities and large towns.
