Local plan scoping consultation

Re local plan in relation to land adjacent to Blakelow road and Buxton old road
We are writing to express our concerns over the loss of any green belt within this area and find it totally unacceptable to even consider allowing possible future development of the area.
The local plan should always give priority to brownfield sites before green belt sites.
The continued loss of green belt would have a significant negative visual impact on the surrounding area both locally and in the larger area of the town.
The green belt should provide a distinct transition between the built up environment and the open countryside.
Just because an area of land can be developed doesn't mean that it should be and this is relevant across all areas of the town where fields and open spaces are present.
