Representation Summary:
I object to the proposed housing allocation on prime Green Belt land around Ashley village. This land should remain in agricultural use for food production rather than be developed for housing. The area lacks the transport links and infrastructure needed to support up to 1,000 new homes, and most residents are likely to rely on cars, creating thousands of additional daily journeys on already congested country lanes. These roads also form part of a valued recreational cycling route. The Green Belt around Ashley and Tatton provides important benefits for wildlife, walking, cycling and wellbeing. New housing should instead be directed towards suitable greybelt or brownfield sites within existing towns.

I wish to object to the proposed allocation of prime green belt land around Ashley village for housing.
The area indicated by Tatton Estates should be used for farming crops, not farming houses.
The transport links and supporting infrastructure are totally inadequate for the various proposals of up to 1000 homes. There is no way the occupants of those houses are going to use rail links for their transport needs, so we are probably looking at several thousand extra car journeys per day on contry lanes, that are already very busy AND form an essential part of a major recreational cycle route (used by my family and myself).
Open greenbelt areas around Ashley and Tatton should be valued and kept for wildlife, walking, cycling and our general wellbeing, not sold off as a cash cow by the landowner. Any housing development should be focussed on greybelt or brownfield land in existing towns.
