I strongly object to the proposed 291 hectare development at Ashley.


This is high performing Green Belt, not Grey Belt. It prevents urban sprawl and maintains the vital countryside gap between Cheshire and Greater Manchester.


It also safeguards open productive farmland.


Ashley is a small rural village with very limited services. There is no bus service, and only hourly train services, with a small station with no car parking spaces.


The surrounding rounds are very narrow, and cross narrow constrained bridges over the river Bollin. Accidents are frequent.


The Council should retain Green Belt protection and reject this proposal entirely.
