Representation Summary:
We strongly object to the proposed 291-hectare development around Ashley. We consider the land to be Green Belt rather than Grey Belt and believe it provides an important barrier against urban sprawl from Greater Manchester into Cheshire. Ashley is a small rural village without the roads, schools, healthcare, shops and other infrastructure needed to support development of this scale. We are concerned that additional population would also place pressure on services in surrounding areas, including Hale and Wythenshawe Hospital. Development would result in the permanent loss of countryside. We believe Green Belt land should be protected and reject the proposed development.

We strongly object to the proposed 291 hectare development in the areas around Ashley Village, Cheshire.
This is green belt , not grey belt land, and it prevents the urban sprawl from Greater Manchester into Cheshire.
Ashley is a small rural village and does not have the necessary infrastructure to support such a proposed development. This includes the roads, schools, GP surgeries, shopping amenities and access from/ to the neighbouring settlements .
This would be an absolute travesty should this development go ahead and it would considerably impact the neighbouring towns and villages . The land once developed is lost to the countryside for ever. The large village of Hale will be the nearest and main centre with facilities to the proposed development and this is already supporting a maximum of local residents.
Wythenshawe Hospital will also be the nearest hospital to the proposed development and this is already very over subscribed and will struggle with such an increase in population demand .
Green Belt land should at all times be protected and we reject any suggestion to develop this area in such a manner.
