The respondent objects to Tatton Estates’ 291.03-hectare, 12-parcel land submission around Ashley. They argue the land performs important Green Belt functions and should not be considered Grey Belt, highlighting its role in preventing urban sprawl and maintaining separation between Greater Manchester and Cheshire. Concerns include the scale and sustainability of development, transport and highway limitations, agricultural land loss, landscape and ecological impacts, aviation constraints, flooding, drainage and infrastructure capacity. The respondent requests that the parcels be assessed cumulatively, considered unsuitable, unavailable and undeliverable, retained within the Green Belt and excluded from future Local Plan allocations.
