I hope that Cheshire East will do everything it can to ensure the continued funding for Jodrell Bank. As you state, it is an internationally renowned facility and a vital asset to UK science.

The building of infrastructure such as datacentres should not be at the expense of the countryside or farmland. We are in a climate crisis and we need green spaces which act as carbon sinks and farms which provide food security more than we need datacentres.

I support a brownfield first policy but does Cheshire East have a plan to ensure that this happens? If not will a brownfield first plan be developed and published by Cheshire East to ensure that this happens?
Does this include development of historical buildings eg. old mills that are currently going into disrepair? Development of these sites should be encouraged.
In addition, there are large numbers of empty homes. What is Cheshire East doing to get these back into use and will the numbers count towards the Government quota? If not, why not?

It states here that it might be difficult to refuse homes on the Green Belt so what protections for countryside remain? Developers would rather build on green belt than brownfield land and don't care about the local area, only maximising their profits.
Green belt is important to prevent urban sprawl and to safeguard the countryside.
The term grey belt is being misused from it's original definition. How will Cheshire East ensure that land which is not grey belt is not classified as such by develops and planners to allow development on green belt to go ahead.

The 159% increase in homes per year is a huge rise. Is Cheshire East challenging the government on this figure? Is it really sustainable in the face of climate change and biodiversity loss?
Is this method of calculating local housing needs suitable?
If the current government want to devolve power to local communities then local councils should be deciding how many new homes are needed, not Westminster.
