Grey belt sounds dubious - encroachment of built up areas into green belt, even if not 'significantly contributing to' sprawl, merging or historic character, seriously compromises the access of wildlife from special areas to other safe spaces - the land next to designated protected sites is just as valuable for wildlife as the actual sites - creatures and plants don't recognise our boundaries. Current environmental issues such a fires and flood highlight how important agricultural land, protected sites and sensitive building are to security of our homes, food and health. They are national security issues and should not be compromised

I'd like to be be clearer what number of homes Cheshire East actually needs. These figures are all very vague and don't clearly demonstrate they are meeting actual local need. While we might need more houses, they certainly should no compromise any greenbelt or special habitats like peat, which are irreplaceable. House policy MUST take account of environmental concerns such as maintaining corridors for wildlife, providing access to green space for all and sustainable transport systems

Above all, an irreplaceable habitats such as peat, must be preserved. This is a long term investment in environmental health and will ultimately support our communities

The preservation of green belt is important and consideration of the need to provide connecting green corridors and avoiding encroachment into greenbelt is important to preserve biodiversity and healthy green space.

This is true and must not be sidelined as a 'nice to have'. Irreplaceable habitats must be preserved, as well as consideration of the broadest range of environmental needs.
