Representation Summary:
The respondent strongly opposes further development on Green Belt land, arguing that remaining countryside should be protected from housing development. They express concerns about increasing traffic, inadequate infrastructure, loss of environmental quality, impacts on mental wellbeing, and pressure on local services. When will this authority stop the destruction of the only areas of green belt left in this area? Our roads are constantly overrun with vehicles and further development will not improve this. While some former industrial sites are getting development which is good the existing green belt must not be allowed for house building and the environment must be protected. May I suggest the logo on your website be discarded; Prosperity and wellness for all. The only prosperity in this area is from fat cat developers and as for wellness this fails to exist as people are becoming fed up of paying for an authority that fails to listen to anything that everyone cares about. As mental health rises we are all encouraged to gey out into the countryside which I fear will no longer exist if this rate of development continues there is no infrastructure to support the area as it stands.
My concern is the Bollington area. Whilst development in industrial sites like Albert rd might be appropriate other areas ; Ingersley vale, land between Clarke lane and Kerridge and areas adjoining Adlington should be left. Bollington over time has been subject to a lot of inappropriate buildings and this should be addressed. The farmland is constantly threatened and this should be reversed; particularly the many tenant farmers losing their land in Adlington. Yet again another threat to our food security and well being.
