I object to the inclusion of the 291.03 hectares of land around Ashley in the Local Plan/SHELAA. I consider the proposal to conflict with Green Belt purposes by promoting urban sprawl, reducing the buffer with Greater Manchester and developing open farmland. I am concerned about the loss of Grade 2 and 3a agricultural land, wildlife habitats, landscape and heritage assets. Ashley has constrained rural roads and railway bridges, limited rail services, no bus service and inadequate sewage and drainage infrastructure. I also raise concerns regarding flooding, traffic safety, aviation noise, emissions and development within bird-strike hazard zones. I request the sites are classified as unsuitable and undeliverable.
