Cheshire East Plan should embrace the recommendations within the document ‘Our Future Homes - Housing that promotes wellbeing and community for an ageing population.’
Recognition should be given to the recommendations in the report ‘Rural Housing for our Ageing Population: Preserving Independence HAPPI 4 The Rural HAPPI Inquiry Jeremy Porteus’. In particular recommendation 4 regarding ‘meeting the needs of older people in rural communities e.g. by the allocation of sites in the local plan specifically for the housing of older people.’
The provision of suitable housing for later living in rural areas should be included.
