The plan should take into account not just a bland reference to climate change, but a should introduce policies which are designed to ensure local plans deliver sustainable homes, water harvesting schemes to conserve water and encourage residents to grow their own food and support farmers by making sure fields are not lost to development as was killer to have happened with the recent Adlington scheme.

In reality there are few “well connected” railway stations in most parts of Cheshire East. The recent attempt by the developer, Bellport to build a new town mentioned Adlington station as being “under used”. Absolute nonsense. It’s one train an hour for most of the day and as soon as the other rail companies using the same line are delayed, the Northern Rail line suffers. Government needs to lead on overhauling the transport green before taking the easy way out passing the buck to private enterprise which we all know just want to maximise profits.

The council should publish its views on likely brownfield sites rather than making a bland statement that it will give such sites priority. Where is the evidence?

Agreed, but how much forward planning supports these comments. What steps has the council taken to identify for example the impact on AI in the services sector given how strong this is in Cheshire East. Evidence please and not just statements

Why has the council not concluded its Environmental Outcomes Reporting process?

How can the plan be seriously considered by residents without this given the threats from climate change?

The Vision needs to be climate centric. We are facing the greatest challenge to mankind ever.

By 2045, our scientists predict food shortages, mass migration to our shores, temperatures 1.5 to 2 higher than now.

The vision needs to provide a blueprint for how communities can come together to mitigate these challanges.
