Objection to SHELAA Submission for Land at Ashley 12 Contiguous Parcels Totalling 291.03 Hectares

I’m objecting because this 291-hectare proposal could significantly affect the character of Ashley. I recognise that there is a need to consider housing and development needs in a broader planning context, and I appreciate the challenge of balancing those priorities, but I believe this site would have a serious impact on the near by villages.

Ashley has very limited facilities and a station that barely runs an hourly service, so calling it well connected in the proposal feels untrue. Every road into Ashley crosses a narrow bridge, and the thought of heavy traffic pouring through them is concerning.

This is beautiful Green Belt countryside and productive farmland, surrounded by wildlife, historic buildings and peaceful landscapes. Losing all of that would change Ashley significantly.

I respectfully ask that the site is not taken forward.
