I object to the potential allocation of sites around Ashley for future development. Having longstanding knowledge of the village and its surrounding countryside, I am concerned that significant development would harm the rural character, agricultural heritage and sense of identity that make Ashley distinctive. Farming has shaped the landscape and community for generations, and the loss of green belt and productive agricultural land would have lasting impacts. While there is a need for new housing, this should not come at the expense of the countryside and local character that residents value. Future site allocations should prioritise sustainable locations and protect the qualities that make Ashley a unique rural village.
