I am objecting to this 291 hectare proposal because it would fundamentally destroy the character of Ashley.
Ashley is a small rural village with no local facilities and a station that struggles to provide even an hourly service, so describing the area as “well connected” is simply inaccurate. Every road into Ashley crosses a narrow bridge, and the prospect of heavy traffic being funnelled through these pinch points is genuinely alarming.
This is beautiful Green Belt countryside and productive farmland, rich in wildlife, historic buildings, and peaceful landscapes. Losing all of this would permanently alter Ashley’s identity and erode the rural environment that residents value and rely on.
