I strongly object to the proposed 291-hectare development across 12 parcels at Ashley. This is high-performing Green Belt, not Grey Belt: it prevents urban sprawl, preserves the vital countryside gap between Greater Manchester and Cheshire, and protects farmland. This precious natural area is important to surrounding communities; children and families from Ashley, Hale and Bowdon use it to connect with nature. Ashley has limited services, no bus network, restricted rail provision and narrow access bridges. Development on this scale is fundamentally unsustainable, creating traffic, infrastructure and drainage pressures while damaging landscapes, wildlife habitats and listed buildings. It must be rejected.
