National & local policies flawed based on political not economic criteria. Inadequately linked to essential infrastructure, medical, education, transport. Focus should be evidence based on demand & viability using brownfield sites before ANY erosion of productive farmland & greenbelt.

At a time when food security threatened is by climate change it is madness to sacrifice productive land to housing, solar panels etc. Focus on pre developed sites. Going for green belt is the greedy lazy option to our permanent detriment.

Macclesfield has b come a ghost town abandoned by major anchor retailers and shoppers. Independent retailers are trying hard to survive against economic and bureaucratic headwinds. No one seems prepared to address this.
