I oppose the proposed 291-hectare development covering 12 adjoining parcels at Ashley. This valuable Green Belt land cannot reasonably be classed as Grey Belt. It restricts urban expansion, preserves the separation between Greater Manchester and Cheshire, and protects productive farmland. Ashley lacks the services and transport links needed for development on this scale, with constrained bridges further limiting access. The scheme would create unacceptable traffic, drainage and infrastructure demands while threatening valued landscapes, wildlife and listed-building settings. Green Belt status should therefore remain, and the site should be rejected in full.
