I strongly object to the proposed allocation of land between Ryecroft Lane and Pavement Lane, Railway and Smith Lane, Land north of Town Lane for residential development.
The sites comprise valuable open countryside, and would result in a significant and permanent loss of greenfield land.
This would increase demand for local infrastructure and community services, including GP practices, schools and other facilities. Unless it can be clearly demonstrated that sufficient capacity exists.
Before greenfield land such as this is released for residential development, the Council should demonstrate that suitable and deliverable brownfield sites have been properly considered and prioritised.
