I strongly object to the proposed 291-hectare development across 12 contiguous parcels at
Ashley.
Ashley is a Green Belt settlement with limited services such as no bus network and
only limited rail; very limited road access with narrow roads which could not support the proposed application.
A development of this
scale is fundamentally unsustainable with the locality unable absorb the additional requirements (schools, health, etc) and would cause severe traffic, infrastructure and drainage
pressures, while damaging protected landscapes, wildlife habitats and the settings of numerous
listed buildings. The Council should retain Green Belt protection and reject this site entirely.
