It is essential that the Green Belt and Open Countryside is preserved for future generations, if we don't, we will regret it when the beautiful county that we live in is nothing more than concrete, tarmac and bricks. Nature recovery should be a key objective. Climate resilience is vital and should be a major feature of the Green Belt policy.

All future development should follow a 'brownfield first' approach. Green Belt release should only be considered in exceptional circumstances. Development should be around existing city's, town's, major conurbations and settlements, where sufficient (existing) infrastructure and ameneties exist.

Only minor alterations or improvements should be allowed in Open Countryside. Parish councils should be given the responsibility to determime what is a major and what is a minor application.

Development in Open Countryside will lead to greater car and other vehicle use, this will increase all pollutions and inevitably lead to a negative effect on the climate and will exacerbate climate change. All planning decisions should aim to reduce vehicle use. The plan should support compact and sustainable communities.

Housing growth should only be allowed where roads, schools, healthcare and public transport exist or will DEFINITELY be provided. Vital infrastructure MUST be planned before or alongside a development, not afterwards.

Cheshire East Council, must go above and beyond the minimum biodiversity requirements, if they don't Cheshire will become a housing estate, nothing more, nothing less. Wildlife corridors and habitat connectivity must be protected. Any loss of biodiversity should result in ANY/ALL planning applications being refused.
