I strongly support retaining the existing Green Belt around Mobberley and object to Green Belt release for housing, employment or other development. The Council should maximise previously developed and suitable non-GB land before considering Green Belt boundary changes. Any proposed release must demonstrate exceptional circumstances and be supported by transparent evidence. The Council should assess the cumulative impact of all 2024 and 2026 Call for Sites submissions around Mobberley, particularly their effect on settlement coalescence and the separation between Mobberley and Knutsford. Please identify all Green Belt sites being considered and clearly explain the evidence supporting any proposed boundary changes.

I strongly object to any housing or employment site being considered on Green Belt land around Mobberley. The fact that land has been submitted through the Call for Sites process should not result in it being treated as a potential development location. I ask the Council to exclude all Green Belt sites around Mobberley from consideration for allocation in the new Local Plan and retain them within the Green Belt. In particular, the Council should not assess individual sites in isolation where their combined development would fundamentally alter Mobberley’s rural setting or erode the separation between Mobberley and Knutsford.

I strongly object to Mobberley being used as a location for additional development simply because it is classified as a Local Service Centre. This classification should not create an expectation that surrounding Green Belt land will be released to accommodate housing or employment growth. Mobberley has a distinct rural character and its surrounding Green Belt is fundamental to maintaining its identity and separation from Knutsford. I ask the Council to recognise these constraints when determining the settlement hierarchy and spatial strategy and to ensure that Mobberley is not allocated additional development that would require Green Belt alteration or release.

I strongly object to any development being directed towards Mobberley at the expense of its surrounding Green Belt. I do not support any redistribution of borough-wide housing or employment requirements onto Mobberley where this would require Green Belt land to be altered, removed or released. The Council should identify and use suitable brownfield, previously developed and non-Green Belt land elsewhere before considering any development around Mobberley. The existing Green Belt provides essential separation between Mobberley and Knutsford and prevents further urbanisation and settlement coalescence. All Green Belt around Mobberley should be retained and excluded from consideration for development.
