It is my view that Haughton should remain a distinctive, sustainable rural hamlet, with its agricultural economy, high-quality farmland, landscape and environmental character properly recognised and protected. I believe future change should respect Haughton’s sparse settlement pattern, limited infrastructure, road capacity and local services. I support appropriate and proportionate development where it meets genuine local needs, with Cheshire East working closely with the Parish to ensure future planning is evidence-led, sustainable and sensitive to Haughton’s unique rural character.
