Protecting natural habitats and peatland in particular should be a major consideration when deciding where new developments should go. Building new houses on peat bogs seems incredibly short sighted when considering their value for the environment.

New developments should be directed towards less environmentally damaging sites rather than building on valuable peatland.

When assessing potential sites for development, the environmental value of the land should be the deciding factor. Peatland especially should be considered unsuitable for development. Building on it risks causing significant and irreversible damage.
