I have never seen anything so complicated & confusing. It is extremely difficult to navigate, particularly for ordinary residents wanting to understand what is being proposed locally and have their say.
The land at Marsh Green Rd is a concern. It appears that hundreds of acres of green land could be considered for development. These fields form an important green boundary &vital buffer around an already highly developed housing including back-to-back houses & properties with little or no front gardens. They provide much-needed breathing space & the best &most versatile agricultural land. Our quality of life should not be compromised

Brownfield sites and previously developed land should be fully considered and accommodated before any greenfield sites are released for development. Our quality of life should not be compromised or “mitigated” to accommodate further development.

I strongly disagree with this approach. National policy should not override the voice of local communities. Local people know their area, its roads, infrastructure, character and pressures far better than a blanket national policy ever could. Decisions about where and how our communities develop should reflect local knowledge and the needs of the people who actually live here. Local Plans should have the strength to protect our communities and green spaces, not simply follow national policies that may not understand the unique issues of Cheshire East.

I strongly object to the introduction of the ‘grey belt’ approach. It appears to weaken Green Belt protection by allowing land to be reclassified where it is considered not to ‘strongly contributeto certain purposes. This is subjective & provides no clear determination of what qualifies as grey belt.I am concerned about the proposal to encourage development around railway stations. These areas are already highly populated urbanised with existing pressure on roads, services infrastructure. Development should not automatically be considered sustainable because it is close to a railway station
Green Belt land should not be released because national policy creates it

I am strongly opposed to this proposal. The number of proposed development sites is far too high and completely disproportionate to the size of the town, with almost double the number of sites compared with the town itself. This scale of development would place unacceptable pressure on roads, schools, healthcare, infrastructure, local services and green spaces, while changing the character of our community. Development must be proportionate to the needs and capacity of the existing town. Our quality of life should not simply be something that can be mitigated.

I am strongly against this approach. It takes away the voice of local residents and undermines democracy. Decisions about where and how our communities develop should be made with genuine local input, not dictated by national policy and blanket requirements. Those making national decisions do not know our area, our infrastructure or the impact this level of development will have on residents. Local people should have a meaningful say in what happens to their communities. National policy should not override local opinion and democratic choice.
