Mobberley is an officially recognized Domesday Book village,1086. Mobberley’s identity has been rooted in its open, rural countryside landscape for nearly a thousand years. As validated by the Natural England Ancient Woodland Inventory (AWI) and local assessments, Mobberley’s specialized 'clough' woodland systems form a critical, interconnected biodiversity corridor linked directly to the Cotterill Clough SSSI. The increase in site activity will lead to a 100% nest failure rate via abandonment or egg predation fo Lapwings. Stag Beetles: Eradicating ancient root systems destroys the centuries-old subterranean deadwood required for their multi-year larval life cycle and accumulated soil microbiome, and specific lichen/flora.
