We’ve heard all this before ‘Improvement to town centres…in reality Macclesfield as an example has declined……dead on its feet apart from vape shops, foreign takeout shops, barbershops that never seem to have any customers. I’m sorry to say these areas are looking increasingly like ghetto zones yet the councils allows them to stay in business and more to setup.
Waste management is another example of the terminal decline of public services. Macclesfield refused site now appears to serve half of Cheshire East…….utter chaos full of vey angry people a common theme in general
Housing should be about local need not government dumping excess population

It’s seems to me you build when you like irrespective of need or opinion
Why are 2530 houses a year need? Because governments have allowed 15+ million foreigners to live here without necessary provision at our expense. We never paid so much in council taxes and received so little.
If this level of building shoe boxes on productive land continues quality of living and social cohesion will suffer. We already have the smallest living space in the developed world and are one of the most densely populated countries in the world (England)
The government should look to Wales and Scotland as a solution

Unfortunately cheshire has already lost many hectares of good productive land used to grow crops……Now gone forever.
Look at the building around Congleton an act of national self harm. If Brownfield sites are not available move the building to where they are available.
UK has very poor food security, so where’s the sense in building on fertile black soil fields……further eroding the green belt…..madness. Green belt exists for a reason. Look at the chaos and negative impact the proposed 30,000 house development would have on that area, no doubt a variation of this development is still lurking just out of the public domain.

This merger with Warrington is outrageous, I don’t recall being consulted, it smacks of Labour interference in voting trends designed to skew the vote in favour of the Labour Party, I believe the term is Jerry Mandering and should be categorised as voting fraud. Towns like Macclesfield will be further undermined, with a diminished voice and influence on its own future. Warrington isn’t even in Cheshire…….it’s residents consider it to be Lancashire!
And regional Mayors are another affront to democracy and another division of accountability for government. Money raised in Cheshire will be disproportionately spent in Warrington…….unacceptable

Why is there a continuous obsession with ethnic diversity, like some badge of honour.
We live in England….in Britain ……northern Europe the indigenous peoples are white Europeans, yet governments and councils seem to have an issue with that fact. I don’t know anyone who thinks a government/council ‘progressive agenda’ to make their communities essential more foreign is a good idea. Real opinion, if you get out there that’s what most people think.

There’s been no sustainable economic growth really since the financial collapse and the banks were bailed out by us the tax payers. I really fail to see what the council can do about this, we have become a low skill, low wage economy in a doom spiral of decline and hollowed out institutions.
You continue to take more and more money from the working residents yet deliver less and less. I would like to hear something tangible rather than platitudes. Build houses where they’re needed don’t inflict unwanted changes where they’ve not and be upfront on your intentions

Your green belt policy is at odds with your actions…….we need to know your real plans and intentions upfront not piecemeal to obscure the reality from your residents.
Most people believe the council is a disingenuous, there to take as much cash as possible and deliver as little as possible. Too much empire building, hidden agendas, virtue signalling at the taxpayers expense.

This not at all on the agenda of the beleaguered increasing financially (REDACTED) by the government residents of this region.
To provide provisions for (REDACTED) is a vindictive, act of virtue signalling, when working taxpayers, living standards have dropped like a rock…..priorities!

Macclesfield town centre has been destroyed by East Cheshire council…….barbershops, grotty takeaway shops, vape shops, (REDACTED).
I remember when you struggled to park in Macclesfield town centre it was buzzing, with a sense of community and cohesion that’s slowly disappeared.
Nothing has been done to put it right…….more hot air and platitudes
