The increase in the number of houses to be built is very large. If we indeed need that many houses in Cheshire east it must not be on Green belt land. We must safeguard our precious countryside from urban encroachment.

I am very concerned about loss of habitats and loss of biodiversity. It's really important to protect our green belt so habitats that are very hard to create ( except by hundreds of years of nature doing what it needs to do without interference) are not lost for ever. We are lucky to have some ancient woodlands and lowland raised bogs and grasslands that are irreplaceable and we should protect them without question.

Local wildlife sites and SSSIs are really important in protecting environments and reversing biodiversity loss. We should protect these nationally and internationally important sites, along with land that neighbours these sites so there are buffers and wildlife corridors.

We must protect are Green spaces for all as they are vital for recreation and mental wellbeing.
I'm really concerned about the pressures to develop sites such as peatlands which are not only extremely important habitats with unique biodiversity but also natural carbon stores. Peatlands are irreplaceable and with the loss of them there would be loss of internationally important nesting sites.
Peatlands are also good at flood protection, being able to soak up water and release it slowly.

I think it is important that we set the bar really high to future proof our environment as much as possible. By this I mean we should be building houses with rainwater capture and grey water recycling. With very high insulation, with solar panels on every house and small local wind generators and bike lanes and bus routes incorporated into housing schemes as a central idea. these be condition of the planning approval and make developers pay for as much of this as possible instead of making big profits . The percentage of affordable houses built should not be negotiable.

Green spaces must be protected and easily accessible for all as important recreation sites and help towards mental health wellbeing.

We need a joined up plan for a cycling and public transport network accessible by everyone.
