I would expect to see any Local Plan include consultation with Local and National organisations such as Wildlife Trusts, Natural England and RSPB to ensure that our future landscape is not driven entirely by developers, but by those who have a clear understanding of the importance of nature recovery - led planning for the long term survival of climate, wildlife, and preservation and restoration of our natural environment.
Peatlands should be safeguarded for carbon capture and flood mitigation.
Future consultations should be timed for optimum engagement - ie not over Christmas or Summer holiday breaks.
