The definition of 'grey belt' seems entirely arbritary and is used by developers to smash through new developments. I'd like to see this definition eliminated.

I would like to see a pause on the current housebuilding applications across Cheshire East until this plan has been properly assessed. The current deluge of applications feels like a Wild West gold rush, with developers throwing in anything they can. I would like to see the housing plan co-ordinated with the upcoming mayoral powers. Around where I am is a focus by housebuilders on high value properties on green belt - affecting farming, wildlife and the environment for profit.

Brownfield must lead the charge in housebuilding - the issue is developers don't want to spend the money on brownfield sites, greenbelt is way cheaper (as the developers of the Adlington Estate have said themselves). They should not be given the wiggle room. Greenbelt should be last choice and only in exceptional circumstances).

And all of these aspects should be protected - farmland, green belt, SSSIs and so on. Once these are gone, they aren't coming back.

The problem with taking so long to implement this plan - 2029 - means the previously referred to Wild West of housebuilding continues unabated. The damage this could wreak, unchecked, could be substantial (look at Adlington, Woodford and all the applications just around there). We need either a pause or a highly considered approach beforehand - and these decisions must be local, having a planning authority (such as with Bloor's triple appeal for building between Prestbury and Macc) cannot take precedence. Oterhwise, what is the point of Andy Burnham's 'local power' policy?

Green belt is absolutely critical - stop allowing the grey area from grey belt. It's a ridiculous development that should be halted.
