I strongly object to the proposed mixed use development and housing sites in and around the village of Ashley. These sites, if developed, would expand the Greater Manchester conurbation into valuable Green Belt. This area and these proposed sites are regularly used by 1,000's of people from South Manchester and Trafford for recreation via the public footpaths to enjoy the wildlife and countryside.

The village of Ashley is currently fed by narrow lanes with many choke points over humpbacked bridges and sharp corners.

In addition, these sites do not have:
- adequate road connection
- appropriate shops or schools

East Cheshire Green Belt is highly valuable and needs to be protected to prevent the expansion of towns and cities. This is particularly true for the Green Belt immediately to the south of the Greater Manchester conurbation as this provides an important barrier to further expansion and urban sprawl.

Importantly, the Green Belt to the south of the Greater Manchester conurbation, and in particular around the village of Ashley, Knutsford and Tatton Park are regularly used for recreation by 1,000's of people and as such should not be considered Grey Belt land. This Green belt directly addresses its primary purpose.
