Our tenanted farmland of 96 years has been included in the call for sites (to the North & South of Holehouse Lane, Whiteley Green). During the recent drought it has remained green, productive & profitable (photos available). It's suitability for house-building is poor due to access, flood risk and the fact that Bollington and Adlington would then be irreversibly joined, contributing to urban sprawl. The fields provide green spaces for people to walk with 3 footpaths running through the farm. It produces 1.7 million litres of milk per year, beef and lamb - important to food security.
