I strongly object to the massive housing development in Ashley. This small beautiful parish is surrounded by rich farmland. This is true green belt land, vital for our need for food security. The roads around Ashley are poor and not designed for such an infrastructure development. There is a lack of schools and shops. The area provides a welcome break from suburbia. Development here would continue the urban sprawl of Manchester. There must be better situated brownfield sites that are ripe for development. This area is one of the most unaffordable in the country and I am concerned that this is more about profiteering rather than providing affordable housing.
I strongly object to your proposal.
