As part of an Ashley resident family, I object outright to any development on the Call for Sites land. This isn't unused ground — it's productive farmland, classed Grade 2 and 3a, that matters for growing food, not housing. The Green Belt around Ashley exists to stop Manchester and Cheshire towns blurring into one another, and this land is part of that. Building here would permanently destroy our local history, our community and the wildlife that lives on these fields and hedgerows. There are brownfield alternatives available instead. My position is simple: this development should not go ahead.
