I strongly object to the proposed development sites in Ashley. These sites are open, working Green Belt farmland and do not meet the Grey Belt test. Development would cause urban sprawl, destroy Best and Most Versatile farmland, and harm Ashley’s rural character, landscape and heritage, including listed buildings and Tatton Estate features. Ashley lacks the public transport and infrastructure required for large-scale growth, with serious concerns over road congestion and safety. There are also significant ecological, flooding and Airport constraints. Development here is fundamentally unsustainable and conflicts with the settlement hierarchy. I urge Cheshire East Council to reject these proposals.
