Local plan scoping consultation

Dear Strategic Planning Team,
I am extremely concerned and disappointed that you are even considering building on the land between Blakelow Road and Leadbeaters Reservoir as part of your new local plan.
This land is Green Belt. There are many many brownfield and greyfield sites throughout Macclesfield and Cheshire which would be far more suitable and should be considered as priority.
The land named above butts up against the Peak District fringe, acting as a buffer zone between the high Peak District with its gritstone edges, sloping valleys, and pastoral farmlands and the low level plains which start at Macclesfield. It is a clear and defined divide between the very rural scenic beauty spots and the busy, bustling heavy urban area of Macclesfield. It must not be destroyed.
It is a very sloping site and its removal as Green Belt would have a huge and detrimental visual impact on both the local countryside and Macclesfield.
Blakelow Road has houses on one side only along a significant section of its length; this development would destroy this unique feature.
Access onto the development would presumably be via Buxton Road (A537): an already fast, dangerous and heavily-used road with difficult visibility, particularly at the junction with Buxton Old Road.
The area is rich in wildlife, notably frogs and toads which migrate from the Peak District through the gardens of Blakelow Road to breed in the natural waterways further down the hill. Their habitat would be irrecoverably devastated.
Green Belt must be protected, particularly when there are so many more sensible and viable options available.
