Local plan scoping consultation

Dear Strategic Planning Team,
I am a resident of Bollinbarn Drive and as a result of the decision made recently to go ahead with the building of 200 homes on greenbelt land, I am deeply concerned that this process will be repeated many times over when looking at the land being offered for development. The loss of actively farmed land that also has special designation means no land is sacred and is not aligned with the protection the NPPF is intended to provide. I ask that this process be stopped to preserve access to our green spaces for mental health, wildlife and food and flood resilience.
Loss of greenbelt along Birtles Road, Whirley Road and Sandy Lane will contribute to urban sprawl. I would like to see brownfield sites considered first, also underused urban land with higher urban densities tested, followed by previously developed land and greenbelt only considered as a very last resort. If the council does not demonstrate this order as per the NPPF I would like to be informed why and how this rationale has changed.
As there appears to be a number of issues with flooding across the Macclesfield area, I would like to see this properly investigated. Thorough seasonal drainage work should be carried out to give residents security with regards to flood resilience.
Please can you ensure these types of issues are considered within the scope of the local plan and keep residents aware of the results/responses of this consultation.
