I object to this invasion of green belt land to the South of Macclesfield. There are numerous empty properties within the borough and numerous small sites which could be developed to save green belt land. Much of this area is peat which is unsuitable for building and contrary to government guide lines. To develop this many homes is going to require massive infrastructure development. Schools, doctors surgeries, increase to hospitals water supply and sewage treatment. The roads around Macclesfield could not cope with the additional traffic. The area gets gridlocked now, this size of development would require massive road investment.
