The Council's ED37 Mobberley Settlement Report identified this land as making a "Major-Contribution" to Green Belt purposes forming part of an "essential gap" between Mobberley and Knutsford, which are less than 700 metres apart. Cheshire East should make full use of existing housing resources before releasing further Green Belt land. The Council's 2023/24 monitoring recorded 4,652 empty dwellings, including 1,672 vacant for more than six-months. While not every empty property is immediately suitable for occupation, these figures demonstrate that there is an existing housing resource which should be addressed alongside regeneration and previously developed land before sacrificing strategically important Green-Belt.
