I wish to object to the proposed development on the grounds that it could significantly increase flood risk within the River Bollin catchment and adversely affect existing communities downstream. The proposed development would replace extensive areas of permeable agricultural land with hard surfacing within the River Bollin catchment. Given recognised flood risks within the catchment and the presence of downstream residential communities including Hale, Hale Barns, Bowdon and Dunham Massey, there is insufficient evidence to demonstrate that the proposal would not increase flood risk elsewhere. The application should therefore be refused as there will be adverse impact on downstream communities.
