Danes Moss North is a beautiful, peaceful area for walking and wildlife spotting – it is a massively valuable local asset;
• It contains huge amounts of peat which is an important store of carbon and helps to combat climate change. It also holds billions of litres of water, helping to reduce flooding;

• It is home to over 1,600 species of plant, bugs, birds and other animals, over 70 of which are protected under UK law

• It has taken the peat about 10,000 years to form. development would destroy it within weeks, and once gone, it’s gone forever.
