Local plan scoping consultation

Danes Moss North is a beautiful, peaceful area for walking and wildlife spotting – it is a massively valuable local asset;

• It contains huge amounts of peat which is an important store of carbon and helps to combat climate change. It also holds billions of litres of water, helping to reduce flooding;

• It is home to over 1,600 species of plant, bugs, birds and other animals, over 70 of which are protected under UK law.

• It has taken the peat about 10,000 years to form – development would destroy it within weeks, and once it is gone, it is gone forever.

We need to make sure all of Danes Moss North is protected now and for future generations.
